Greg Yuna is a born and bred New York City guy – Queens to be precise (he'd be sure to let you know). He's the kind of character that helps the city move and breathe and exist in all of its frenetic intensity. The type of NYC/Diamond District character who lands a small role alongside Adam Sandler in the Safdie Brothers film Uncut Gems. Full of energy, cheeky grins, and quick retorts, they don't make guys like Yuna anywhere else but New York City. replica omega watches Brand: Cartier Model: Santos de Cartier Titanium LM; Santos de Cartier Black Dial LMReference Number: CRWSSA0089; CRWSSA0096 A smooth transition here to start as we're back at Phillips, but in Hong Kong this time. I couldn't help but include this Movado, given my deep appreciation for the brand and, specifically, its chronographs of this era. The Tempograph is a rare and odd duck. Adios slabs! It's also powered by Tudor's manufacture calibre MT5602-U which is a certified Master Chronometer and it comes on an optional five-link style bracelet with Tudor's T-Fit clasp for easy on-the-fly adjustability (think Rolex Glidelock). There's also a new crown, grippier bezel, and a lollipop seconds. This Rolex GMT-Master caught my eye right away when it came across our desks. The various colors all blend together so seamlessly that it doesn't even look like a two-tone watch at first glance. I love a nice "ghost" bezel, and this one is extra special because of its two-tone colorway. Featuring a double locking enclosure, the clasp looks and feels like it's pulled straight from a vintage watch, complete with stamped metal – nothing milled here. It adds to the overall lightness and certainly bolsters the charm.
The name on the dial – in a font that is distinctly "Blancpain" – has each individual letter applied by hand and not as a group. The indexes are more modern and curved while the dauphine hands are modernized as well with planed crests, polished angles, and a satin-finished top surface. If you happened to have missed this amazing piece by our own Joe Thompson when it published last March, cancel your Sunday morning plans. This is the first-hand, first person story of Joe's very first Baselworld. Travel back to 1979 as Joe jumps into the deep end of the Swiss watch industry and kicks off an attendance record that spans four decades! As crazy as it sounds, the end of 2017 is quickly approaching, and this is going to be the last episode of Friday Live until 2018. We've had a lot of great shows since we kicked things off in April. Some had special guests, others focused on breaking news, and some were just nice pre-weekend chats. In light of this promotion, we would like to showcase a selection of our favorite watches, gradually moving up in terms of price.
Before our phones could do pretty much anything for us, watches kept us on-time (or more or less on-time, hopefully). While there is a divide between non-date and date enthusiasts, there is no question that the date window has become a standard for many watches today. There are several styles that are popular. Mark Kauzlarich is a talented photographer and writer who started contributing for us last year; you might remember his In-Depth report on the late bluegrass star Tony Rice and his personal Bulova Accutron Spaceview. I got to know Mark on a more personal level starting around the time he submitted his first story, and I can attest – this guy is the real deal.
